Jan M. Davies

Jan M. Davies is a professor of anesthesiology, perioperative and pain medicine, and an adjunct professor of psychology at the University of Calgary. At the time she had consulting privileges as an anesthesiologist in the Region's hospitals and had spent the previous twenty years in safety and quality in healthcare and aviation. Away at the time of the deaths, on her return she joined the group that developed the Region's patient safety strategy. She became a safety advisor to the Region, a position that ended when the Region was amalgamated into the single provincial health authority, Alberta Health Services, in 2008.
