Mary Beth Garber

Mary Beth Garber has trained with the great audio artists and coaches Pat Fraley, Scott Brick, P. J. Ochlan, Sean Pratt, Paul Alan Ruben, and Khristine Hvam. She recorded her first six audiobooks at Deyan Audio and twelve more at her home studio, all available on Audible. She also recorded a fantasy novel for Learning Ally. Mary Beth loves mysteries and memoirs, but her range is surprising. She thrives on becoming other people in difficult situations. She has cried as a character in every book, even—maybe especially—the memoirs.

● She had a long career speaking for a living in the advertising media world, a large chunk of that as president of the Southern California Broadcasters Association.

● With a decade of experience as an instructor at UCLA Extension, she knows how to keep tired, restless people engaged and entertained.

● An Army brat, she lived in nine countries on three continents by the age of nine and developed an ear for many accents and speech patterns.

● She trained and acted in school and college dramas, including a program at Northwestern University. She did some Little Theater in Los Angeles, eons ago.

● She has been immersed in jargon and maverick experiences from the medical, higher education, media, governmental committee, and nonprofit worlds. She is a widow, mother, grandmother, inveterate nonprofit/government Board member, dog owner, and helpful person.

Mary Beth moved to the Los Angeles area for college and stayed. She lived in suburban LA, then hung out in Malibu for twenty years. She recently moved to Carlsbad, California, with her newest dog buddy, Bogart, where she built a house with a recording studio. The ocean is just as beautiful here.
