Baroness Emmuska Orczy
Baroness Emmuska Orczy (1865–1947) was a British novelist and playwright of Hungarian noble origin. She was most notable for her series of novels featuring the Scarlet Pimpernel. She is also well known for creating the character the Old Man in the Corner, who was featured in a series of twelve British movies starting in 1924. A noted artist, her paintings have been exhibited at the Royal Academy in London.
