J. Scott Payne
J. Scott Payne began his writing career as a cub reporter for the Kansas Star. After service with the U.S. Army in Korea, Vietnam and—worst of all—Washington, D.C., he worked as a reporter and editor of several Midwestern newspapers and magazines. Now retired, he and his wife, Jane, live in a small west Michigan college town where they enjoy the woods, the birds and the battles—or maybe games—between Burt, their big black cat, and Bailey, the little white terrier.
