Mark B. Borg Jr., PhD
Mark B. Borg, Jr., PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist/psychoanalyst who has been in private practice in New York City since 1998. Originally from Southern California, he moved to New York in 1997 to accept the position of Director of Psychology at the 5th Avenue Center for Psychotherapy, a West Village community center that has been at the forefront on the community mental health scene since the early 1960's. Dr. Borg attended graduate school at the California School of Professional Psychology, where he earned both his master’s degree and his PhD in a dual-track program in clinical and community psychology. While there, Dr. Borg served on a four-year community empowerment project that was developed in South Central Los Angeles in the wake of the 1992 riots. Also at that time, he conducted individual and group psychotherapy at the AIDS Services Foundation in Orange County, California. When he arrived in New York City, Dr. Borg trained in psychoanalysis at the William Alanson White Institute for Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology. Dr. Borg is the author of Don't Be A Dick: Change Yourself, Change Your World.
