Mark Stein

Mark Stein is an American author, screenwriter, and playwright. He is the author of American Panic: A History of Who Scares Us and Why, How the States Got Their Shapes, a New York Times bestseller that went on to become the basis for the History Channel series of the same name, and a companion book, How the States Got Their Shapes Too: The People Behind the Borderlines. Mark has written the scripts for the movie Housesitter, starring Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn, and for various movies on CBS and NBC.
