W. B. Yeats
William Butler Yeats (1865–1939) was an Irish poet and one of the foremost figures of twentieth-century literature. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature as the first Irishman so honored. Yeats is generally considered one of the few writers who completed their greatest works after being awarded the Nobel Prize. Such works include The Tower and The Winding Stair and Other Poems.

V.M. Yeates
V. M. Yeates was born at Dulwich, and educated at Colfe's School. Yeates joined the Royal Flying Corps (later the Royal Air Force) in 1917. Serving with No. 46 Squadron, he flew 248 hours in Sopwith Camels, crashed four times, was shot down twice, and scored five victories, thereby achieving "ace" status. He died in 1934.
